Deep Waters

The Ampersand Collective’s Support Group for Moms

A Safe Space for Healing—Find the Membership That Fits You

Why Deep Waters Exists

Pregnancy and infant loss is a grief few can understand — and even fewer know how to talk about.

Deep Waters was created to be a place of connection, community, and healing for mothers walking this path. When the casseroles stop coming and the world moves on, you deserve a place where your pain is seen, your story is honored, and your baby’s name is remembered.

This isn’t therapy, and it isn’t clinical. It’s not about fixing or rushing you forward.
It’s a circle — a space where women who “get it” come together to share, witness, and support each other.
It’s a village for your motherhood journey, no matter where you are in it.

In Deep Waters, you’ll find:

  • A space to honor your grief, your baby, and your experience

  • Gentle conversation and guided support

  • Tools and care resources for life after loss

  • Other mothers who will say your baby’s name, again and again

  • "....I’m so grateful that I can show up as I am, however I’m feeling and know that I’m in a room full of women who understand.... "

“I’ve been coming to this group since March of 2023 after our second pregnancy loss. I’m so grateful that I can show up as I am, however I’m feeling and know that I’m in a room full of women who understand. We laugh, we cry, we support and love on one another. I appreciate the different practitioners we’ve been given the opportunity to meet and have learned so many coping skills. It’s truly a time I look forward to. I’m so grateful to Dr Sydney for creating this healing space for us.”

"...We laugh...we cry..we heal.  We eat lots of cookies..."

“This group has been my saving grace.I don't know where I would be without this group.  I have struggled to find safe places outside of my home to grieve, and Dr Sydney and this group of Moms have created exactly that: a safe place to grieve and walk alongside compassionate people who "get it" as you navigate life as a Loss Mom.  We laugh...we cry..we heal.  We eat lots of cookies. As we hear from experts and search for ways to survive the unimaginable. “

  • "...I’m so appreciative of the friends I’ve made in this group and how we all show up for each other...”

“I thought that when I originally joined this group we would just be crying the whole time - and while there are tears, there is also laughter, support, kindness, and understanding. I’m so appreciative of the friends I’ve made in this group and how we all show up for each other.”

Still Not Sure?

“What if I’m not ready to talk?”
That’s okay. There is no pressure to share. You can just listen, read, or quietly hold space. Presence is enough.

“What if I’m pregnant again or still trying?”
You are still a mother. You are still grieving. And you are welcome here. We hold space for all parts of your journey — the hope, the fear, the complexity.

“What if my loss was a long time ago?”
There is no timeline on grief. Whether your loss was weeks ago or years ago, you deserve support, community, and a place to say your baby’s name.

“What if I can’t afford it right now?”
We offer financial assistance and pay-what-you-can options. We never want cost to be a barrier to care. Just reach out — we’ll work with you quietly and compassionately.
